Default Anyone know how to...

When I bought my car, The tint had been peeled off my rear window, but they didn't get the adhesive off.
i went to a tint shop to get it redone and they said they were going to chage me an extra $100 to remove the adhesive. So... my question is, does anyone know how to get the glu off of the window without ruining the defrosters on the window?

Thanks!

Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or your local hardware store and pick up some superfine steel wool pads. Make sure to get the superfine 0000 grade steel wool though as any other grade may result in scratches. Just wet the pad with soap and water and scrub the adhesive off the window. It will easily remove the adhesive and will not damage the rear defroster lines or scratch the window as I had to do the same thing a while back when I had to remove my tints due to a fix it ticket.

I have pulled tint off of several cars & I always use a window cleaner like windex, it breaks the glue down very easily. I use a rough dish/kitchen towel

i always just used a paint reducer. gotta keep it from gettin on the plastics or fabrics but id just put some on a towel and then wipe it onto the glue and it would break it down.

then just go over it with denatured alcohol so that you are sure to have gotten all the residue off.

Use windex to get it off, then maybe try goo gone to get off small spots. If your going to clean your windows, after you get them tinted, make sure whatever product you get, does NOT have ammonia. It will say on the front of any bottle, if it doesn't say " ammonia free ", then it most likely has ammonia.

Warm soapy water and a pot scrubber will break it down. You don't want to use abrasives because it may damage your rear defroster.
