Default Cannot get paint of back window

I got married last month and so my friends wrote "Just Married" on the back window with that window paint you can use to write on windows for the race track and stuff....well i washed my windows about 2 weeks after it was put on and now the damn stuff wont come off. The paint itself came off but i can still see the outline of the words almost like it etched into the glass or something....any ideas?

Thanks,
Matthew

Windex and very fine steel wool...0000 grade. That should do the trick.

Steel wool works, just make sure its the 0000 grade as scooter said. If you don't believe us, get some steel wool, go to a used car lot on a sunday, rub it on the window to prove to yourself that it won't scratch, then go home and fix your glass...

lmao! Then its not his problem if it doesn't lol jk. In all seriousness though, Ive seen this recommended on these forums a few times (although I've never tried it myself so I really can't say), but you could always try it on a small area of your car to make sure it works if you still have doubts.

If you have Mothers Chrome Polish, it's safe for exterior glass. Try it with a quality terry cotton towel, let it dry to a haze and buff off with a clean terry towel.

At Kragen (and probably its sister stores Checker or Schuck's or O'Reilly's), you can get a product called Glass Scrub by Glass Science. I picked up a bottle but haven't tried it yet.

If you have Rain-X water repellant, that might also work.

safety razor blade. Not on the inside of the car. Glass in laminated on the inside. I did this last weekend with my buddy on a fresh paint job. Be gentle, works well.

PS this is how all body shops get over spray off
