Hand buffing?
I need to buff out the front bumper on my notch because the previous owner never did, i dont have a electric buffer nor do i want to **** up the paint. Can i hand buff it? If so, how, and what do i do it with? Thanks.
But, if its the paint that's not smooth(instead of deposits) the claybar won't help and it will have to be buffed with an powered buffer. I'd take it to the local body shop and get some expert opinion on what needs done. I'm sure they'd be happy to help ya out.
My buddy said my car need's a claybar bad........... im unsure how to use one. and cant they mess up the paint if not done right?
im lost on how to buff and such. I have a buffing machine from a few year's ago, but its a cheap wal-mart thing.

If it's clear-coated, I would clay it first. Then possibly try some Meguiar's Scratch-X. If that doesn't help, you would be best to borrow or invest in a PC 7424 or something similar.
If it's single stage paint, a polishing compound may be all you need. It's hard to say though, without actually seeing the car.
