Default Carnauba wax

I understand that carnauba rather than synthetic wax works better on dark colors. True or false? If true, which would you guys use...Mothers or Megs 26 High Tech Yellow ?

What looks better is more subjective than a clear cut answer. Most people do prefer the warmer appearance and depth that a caruba wax offers, especially on darker colors. However some prefer a more clear-looking sealant or synthetic wax, as it looks more "pure" to the original color where a carnuba wax will change that slightly. The sealant usually lasts longer as well.

My advice is to try them both and see what you prefer, as there is no right or wrong answer. I prefer the carnuba wax myself, and my car is a darker red. To get the protection of the sealant, with the look of the carnuba, I apply the sealant first and then use carnuba over the sealant. I allow about 24 hours between the sealant and the wax steps. Then I apply a coat of carnuba-based wax once a month to upkeep the appearance. Twice a year I clay and polish, then hit the car with a couple more coats of sealant again.

I use Megiuars 26 for the carnuba wax, and Meguiars 21 for my sealant.

Thanks. I like the Megs 26 for ease of use. Comes off effortlessly. I may use the Megs on the vertical panels and Mothers SynWax of the hood, roof and trunk since they take more abuse from the rain and sun.

I'm a Mother's person, have been for years and years. And I like how my Torch Red 06 looks after I use it. As Misbehavin said, it seems to have a warmth to it, IMO.

Of course you are, I never had you pegged as a "father's" person!

Any shade of red seems to be a natural match for carnuba IMO. It just seems to make red really pop.

Picked up the Mothers today. Yea I said I'd use Megs but Mothers is $4 less expensive and I'm sure works just as well.
