Angry scratches from dealership

So I was having some work done at the dealer and had to leave it for a few days. I picked it up Wednesday after work and went home. I went to get in it today after work and noticed on the front fender, over the wheel well a bunch of scratches! It looks like some one was leaning over into the hood and had something(buckle, etc) just going to town, scratching the hell out of it. I would think they would use a fender cover or something. There are a bunch of scratches in an are prob 8" around or something, but none are deep. A couple of them I can barely feel when I pass a fingernail over them. Anyway, here's the question: Should I go and try to get them to fix it, or try to buff it out myself? I'm not sure how much I trust these yahoos playing with the paint on my car. I bought the car used and it has quite the collection of swirl marks, so I planned on getting the whole thing buffed out soon anyway. You think these can be buffrd out pretty easily?

It was sprinkling a bit before I dropped it off, and that plus all the pollen around here = dirty. Didn't notice anything at first.

If you take it back they will probably leave rotary holograms all over the car. I would tell them to pay for a detail somewhere else because you dont trust them.

Dealership wont touch it since the car was taken with out mention and now you have to take into consideration its the weekend, so friday night, all day saturday and all day sunday.

Your best option is to call and leave a voice mail NOW and be in first thing monday when the dealership opens. Talk to the service manager and NO one else. Hope for the best and expect the worse, but those scratches look horrible, especially on black paint. Its their fault but trust me they will say you did it when you took the car home.

Can you feel the scratches with your finger nail?

Hot I would try taking it back to the dealership first. I had a experience once with my 90 GT. Took the car in for work, and a few weeks later while washing it noticed real fine little white specks. Ended being over spray. It was about a week of fights and threats, but they removed all of it. Luckily just a good detail took it all off. When I told them I was going to email and call the CEO of Ford they finally caved. Right is right and if they are worth a poop they will fix it.

Damn man thats exactly what it looks like happened. Which is probably a good thing for you...No way they can claim someone keyed it or something after you left. I'd get in there Monday morning as soon as they open and start nice, if they start bs'ing I'd get sh*tty real quick though.

I hope they take care of ya.

Well, finally had a chance to wash my car today(111 heat index was nothin' nice), and the scratches don't look quite as bad as I thought. Still bad, but I am pretty sure they can be buffed out. I'm going to look again in the morning. My 1st stop tomorrow will be the dealer. Wish me luck.
