Kitzy, I've heard off all those brands. I have never used them. I use Adams because they are a company really cares about their customers. Profit is not top priority, having the best possible product with little profit suits them well. Adam's does a great job and best of all, Adam supports American workers.

I will say that Adam's is a nice company to deal with. They will go out of their way for you. I've heard stories from individuals who have needed something immediately to get ready for a show and shipping the product overnight wouldn't have been fast enough. Adam himself actually contacted another customer in the area, asked them to give their product to the person and then sent that person the new product. I've also heard of Adam himself delivering products while passing through a town. That's pretty cool to me. They have a nice setup at shows and are easy to talk to as well.

However, there is a lot of speculation that their products are just rebranded Chemical Guys products (this isn't uncommon.) Just look at Adam's VRT (which I love) and CG's VRP. Undercarriage spray and Bare Bones, etc. Now all that to me is minor seeing as customer service is more important. What steered me away was their polishes. They don't have enough options and they don't get aggressive enough to take care of serious defects. They're more maintenance products than anything. To be fair though I never tried their machine polish. I just migrated away to other brands and products when I found I was getting results that I liked better with them. For polishes, I feel there are so many better products out there such as Meguiars 105/205 combo, Poorboy's World SSR1, 2, and 3, Optimum Hyper Compound and Polish along with their Finish Polish, Menzerna, etc.

There's more than one way to skin a cat though. In the end, you do what works for you and gets the results you're after.

I use Mothers and Maguiers with NO problems at all. I also wax the whole car and then wipe the whole down. No issues with that either.

I agree with you on Adam. What I don't agree with you is your misunderstanding of Adam's just being a re-brand of Chemical guys. I have heard this topic come up many times and Adam himself has tried to explain how ridicules it would be for his to just have Adam's polishes be a under CG. Every product has their base from there it is up to the individual company to tweak the product here and there. I bet Chemical guys don't have a water based tire, rubber and vinyl dressing that is water resistant. Think of it this way, Shell gas sells and refines good gas, But why couldn't you argue that Arco is just a re brand of shell? They serve the same purpose. Difference are, Shell has their refinements and Arco has their refinements but what they both have in common is that they both start with the same base. My example may not be the best, but I hope you get the idea.

I agree that Adam's selection of Polishes aren't meant to compete with the M105/205 and such polishes and compounds. Adam is a busy man though, is soon releasing a new, more aggressive polish that competes with the more aggressive polishes and compounds out there. People have their preferences though, and opinions.

I hear what you're saying. I've often thought about i the exact way you explain it. While this may be true of some of the products, some of them are just way too similar for me to believe anything is really different. In addition to the two I listed earlier, there is also Adam's Car Shampoo/CG's Maxi Suds, Adam's Detail Spray/CG's Speed Wipe, Adam's APC/CG's All Clean, etc. The resemblance is stunning.

Could I be wrong and misinformed? Ofcourse. But I choose to draw my own conclusions based on my personal experience with products from both companies as well as insight from people throughout the industry. When it comes down to it though, this wasn't an issue for me in the first place. Like I said, the customer service was great and that's most important to me. I just found other products I liked better.

I will have to say that I am wax-ignorant. Until I hit the detailing forum, I had no clue whatsoever on waxing, and my only experience with wax is paste wax from Maguires.

Oh well, but it sure looks damn good.
Maguires on the painted bits and RainX on the glass, and water now beads up and rolls off like it does off a duck's ***
