Default Stang Detailing

Requesting detailing 101 basically,

I want to take taking care of my car to the next level, I also want to become pretty good at detailing right now i have little experience but i want to be able to detail near perfect, and also be able to repair any dings, scratches, paint chips, things like that, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything the proper way before i start, i picked up some fresh products today.

youre going to have to open your pocket a little bit wider because those products aren't going to get you perfect. Adam's polishes is really good detailing company. their products are second to none. and like any good detailer, you're going to need polishers and fine waxes.

If you're going to use polishers and haven't in the past, I would suggest going to a bone yard nearby you to see if they have some hoods or something you can buy real cheap. The paint or condition doesn't have to be great because you're going to try and make it look better anyway. That'll be a lot better than practicing on your own car and having something go wrong.

But yes, I agree with 19, if you want to get serious about detailing, get some serious products.

both of them are correct...i'd reallt go get a ok condition hood that you can scuff up and work to repair that way you can learn how to sand etc...but in terms of the products, like my buddy 19stang88 said, if you want premium results, you gotta order on-line... i.e. Adams, Chemical Guys, Swissvax...places that you can't walk into a body shop and pay for

also some have said that turtle wax wheel cleaner will damage the wheels and so will the tire shine?

ill check craigslist for some cheap stuff to practice on also then, the pick a parts around here try to kill you on the prices.

most over the counter detail products are for specific materials...most products like adams and chemical guys etc(things you buy on-line) are good on all materials, just make sure you are always working on a COOL surface...they are powerful cleaners and can possibly discolor your wheels

haha yeah. How about you ask Adam, the man himself that... Personally. It is not the same thing at all. CG IMO looks half assed. I don't know who claimed Adam's is just a CG product but re-named. of course every company uses the same base products but the part that makes it unique is the special additives that separate the products from every company. If Adams was just CG renamed then guy does Dylan spend a lot of time testing products? And how logical is it to create a company like Adam's polishes just to sell ANOTHER companys products but just renamed. What kind of pride do you gain from doing that? What kind of success do you get? Isn't the point of starting a company to feel pride and be driven of your own success, not others? All I have to say, who ever created that rumor about Adam's and CG is a DAMN IDIOT!

got that right...i heard that rumor too but don't believe a word of it...two different companies...both show great results, as do all NON-over the counter products
