Default Chroming Parts

Is it a good idea or bad? Worth the price or not?

I have some Shorty headers but they have some age with some rust. Is it smart to have the cleaned and chromed?

Waste of money. Probably cheaper to buy new headers. I'd just sand them down and coat them with a can of your favorite heat resistant paint.

What headers are you looking at?

I bought Hooker super competition ceramic coated longtubes for the 502 in my Chevelle for 600 brand new. My stang headers were like 200.

If you could show me some for cheaper that would be great, also nothing horrible, the ones I have for now are fine, if I buy new they might as well be a upgrade

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...ustang-Headers

Those exact headers are $20 cheaper on late model restoration.

The difference in performance is from equal length vs unequal length or shortie vs longtube.

Save the money, those Ford Racing ones are unequal length and just selling the name. The BBK pipes on there are much cheaper and perform the same.

I'm using longtubes on my car.

i dont think they will perform better clean, so unless you are working on chroming all the parts in your engine bay, or are looking for better performance, i would just keep what you got and maybe like was stated already, sand and paint them if you really want them to look better than they do now.
$400-$500 to have chrome headers just for the sake of having them doesnt seem worth it.
