Default seat dying

I recently purchased some race seats and they are slightly sun faded were they were in direct light. So most of the seat is black but has some parts that are brownish. When I bought them I was also given a bottle of black cloth dye but I believe it says to soak it in a tub, I can't do that but i was thinking of getting a spray bottle and mix hot water and the black dye then spray the seats and let them dry. Is this a possible way doing this? I am open to other suggestions as well.
