Lets talk mufflers.
it also gained hp because how resticted the factory setup is. that is the reason that mullet moblie gain anything.
since there is no backpressure you lose bottom end. which means your going to need more gas to get anywhere.

Maybe I should have made more things clear.

He has edelbrock headers, y-pipe & Magnaflow exhaust, he gained ANOTHER 15RWHP. And no, the HP gain wasn't at the end of the RPM band.

Don't question me, I'm not going to make idiot statements. I always have fact behind what I say. I wouldn't risk misleading members with the information I have. Ohsoquik02 is making false statements.

AS I EVEN SAID IN MY PREVIOUS POST, EVEN MY 88 IROC-Z RAN 14.9 WITH THE CUT OUT CAPPED, I HAD EDELBROCK HEADERS, YPIPE AND DYNOMAX MUFFLER. I GAINED .2 IN THE QUARTER MILE = 14.7.

READ CLOSELY.

im sorry to say my statements are backed by proven information. i get my resources from different types of literature. so dont sit there and say i give false statements ill prove you wrong everytime you doubt me. i dont speak unless i know the facts.
You are wrong.

You would have to buy some HUGE headers and put them on a rather UNDERMODDED V8 TO SEE A LOSS OF ANY SORT FROM A CUT OUT.

I'm done arguing with you. Mislead these members all you want.

arguing you started but good and sayin im misleading ppl sure i am.
have you ever heard of flowing to much for the street? well its possible that you can flow to much to hurt performance.

I'll start researching header sizes for Fox Bodies & Modular engines so I can tell everyone which headers NOT to get if they don't want to 'flow to much'. Like I've said, you will need some MASSIVE headers and you'll need to run them wide open to hurt performance at the end of the 1320.

You want to remove as much back pressure from the system as possible, without affecting exhaust VELOCITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so your saying put 1 7/8 headers on a stock stang??um not a good idea youll lose too much power with them. you need some backpressure to build up torque.
torque gets you going and hp finishes off the race.
torque is something you 4.6 owners dont understand

For sound go with Flows.... They aren't big on performance but they sound pretty good. Cut off the back two cats and put on Flows, run 2 1/2' out the back. That will pretty much keep with your "stock" exhaust and get some pretty decent sound. You'll notice some gains as well.
