Default Trunk Emblem Question

Okay, guys.
I have a 2008 v6 Vista Blue coupe.
I got in brand new and completely stock(for now). I just started doing a few minor things to the exterior to "customize" it a bit.
I painted the brake calipers pink and did the red stripe on the side emblems pink as well.
This week I had the decklid between the tail lights blacked out.

When I removed the trunk emblem, I decided I wanted to do something different with it.

I really want to get a running pony emblem and paint it gloss black. But the only ones I can find don't have the same mounting brackets as the trunk emblems.

Has anyone ever tried this?
Do you have an suggestions?

My husband works at a body shop so most anything that is suggested could be done pretty easily, I imagine.

(Excuse the dirty tail light and bumper. Paint shop guys are pretty messy.) [IMG][/IMG]

Have done this to my 07 GT/CS. Check my photo's under the Community, GrumpysGT, photos. I removed the fake gas cap and replaced it with a small running pony I got from CJ Pony Parts. It was a grill pony from a 70's mustang, chrome. Removed the mounting pins, filled the hollow back with epoxy, and mounted it with 3-m auto trim mounting tape. If you want black you'll have to paint it but that shouldn't be a problem. I originally used the pony from my GT front grill but it was to big. Check CJ Pony Parts catalog, 60-70 era catalog for different styles of emblems.
