Tint Question
I just had my windows tinted all the way around, however, they have to re-do the back window.
Here's my question: What do you do about the dot matrix? Right now, they went all the way up and it looks horrible to me. Some of the tint sticks, some of it looks cloudy and stuff, I hate it. I had planned on telling the guy to barely go up on the dot matrix when he re-tints it, but I was curious if y'all have any advice or information...(Short of putting a new back window in that has no dot matrix). lol
Thanks!

Most tinters will pre-cut and lay out the tint on the outside of window before applying it to the inside of the window.
This helps them work around those annoying dots and rear defogger harness.
I would also suggest that if you're not happy, find a better tinter...

The more I read, the more I realize the guy that did my tint definitely doesn't do it like I want it. Time to find another shop, I think!
Thanks.
I just had mine done... I go off of yelp and other review places for services. I went 15% all around and a 5% strip on the windshield. He was awesome and the dot matrix has air between them or whatever. There's no way around that, but mine looks perfect. What exactly is the problem with the tint anyways?
When I had my ws6 windows tinted the installer did a slightly different technique and the dot matrix wasn't uniform some reason. Some was all the way in between, some had air.

I definitely want something over it, but the more I read, the more people use a vinyl called "Dotrix" that adheres better over the Dot Matrix. The problem with mine is that the guy is just crappy (lol). Luckily, the shop where I got it done at fired that guy and hired in a new one that knows what he's doing, so he'll be re-doing my windows soon. The old guy just laid it over the dot matrix and smoothed out what he could, now there are "white-ish" spots in it and bubbles and such. It just looks bad.
