i was found a video and they used a clay bar but how can i try to wash some of it off with the open holes in the trunk? wouldnt the clay bar just grab all the dirt and scratch the paint?

use quick detailer and a microfiber, then quick detail as your clay lube and clay it, follow with a compound such as meg's ultimate compound followed with megs ultimate polish and finally seal with a quality wax, this is an otc approach to solve your issue

I just did mine, and it had some serious-business double sided adhesive on it. Lots of elbow grease and Goo-Off. I also managed to gouge my clear in the process on the trunk lid. Now I have to figure out how to fix that.

Sometimes a little heat from a heat gun or blow dryer works better to get the adhesives off. Then follow it up with Goo-off, WD40 or 3M adhesive remover to get that sticky residue.

Yeah I used the fiance's hair dryer to help get it loose. I just got impatient and wanted to hurry things along. As I was getting the blade out, I told my son that "this is likely a bad idea". Truer words were never spoken.
