how to use a clay bar???
OK, this may seem really obvious, but what is the proper way to use a clay bar? Do you use long strokes or short? Should you press or just lightly glide the bar over the paint(after spraying the detailer on ov course)? I have noticed a few spots on my car that I would like to get off but I don't want to screw up my paint either. Thanks for the advice.
You do it which ever way you are comfortable with. Make sure you wash car first. You can use the clay bar with water. Just keep spraying the area you are working in with water and rub the bar across the paint. You may feel some roughness at first but then you will notice it dissapear. You wont need to press hard, youll see, its simple.
I go over the whole car with a clay bar about twice a year. From time to time I will just clay the hood. The flat horizontal surfaces pick up more gunk. If your car has never been clayed, go over the whole car. You can use short or long strokes. Keep the clay and surface wet. You can't hurt your finish with a clay bar.
More than you will EVER want to know about claying your car...
