Check out www.eastwood.com They sell all the goods to do it right - and I think they have some instructions. They also have forums where I'm sure you can find some good tips.

I have done my wheels in the past and it is at LEAST a 3 step process, sometimes more depending on what you are polishing. Basically the first step is a very course buff, to cut into the metal. Then the 2nd (or middle STEPS) are more of a smoothing process, then the final soft buff is the step that produces the mirror finish. The results are great, but the work can be cumbersome.

Was it worth it to you? I would really like to polish most of the spall pieces under the hood. Should I just buy some off ebay that sombody has already done. Just wandering. Thanks for the advice. Bad *** car by the way. I had a 01Gt same color with 18" 03 Cobra wheels.

I only did my wheels - did a set of TRX's from an '82, and a set of 10-hole GT wheels on my 85. I did NOT do the inside of the holes, or the deep lip near the outside of the rim - just the main outer lip, and the entire face/center. It was worth it - but you have to keep them hand polished with mothers aluminum polish more frequently. Never did any under hood parts.

But the look is definitely worth it if you have the time and patience

I'm still working on my website - but in the coming weeks (when I can get to a scanner) I will have a before and after pic of the TRX's
