nah man you can get a take off dual exhaust kit from cal-mustang.com for only $215. You need to cutt behind the cats and weld on the pipes but other then that it comes with everything needed for install.
http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/pipes.htm here is a picture of how you install it. It doesnt sound like the power of a v8 but it does sound day and night better from the single exhaust system

Dual exhaust on a V6 without many other mods will ber overkill.

I had a 93' taurus GL with the 3.8...its the same v6 as in the 96-98 v6 stangs...just turned sideways, anyways it was my firts car...it was bad ***... I had a K&N, dynomax exhaust, and a shift kit...it sounded good, so I would think if ya just go with an aftermarket muffler rather than duals it'll sound good... the reason for this is that if you put on duals, the v6 wont have enough air displacement through each muffler to get any good sound...with a single upgraded muffler all the air displacement goes through it creating a nice rumble<edited><editID>Black Horse</editID><editDate>38003.4568634259</editDate></edited>
