Coat her down with Gunk's Engine Degreaser and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, then hose it all down with a high pressure garden hose nozzle. You may have to do a little scrubbing on that intake cover. But be sure to cover up the distributor cap first - and be sure to do it on a day when you won't have to drive afterwards. There's a SLIGHT chance is won't start afterwards - thats ok because after drying out for a few hours all should be fine. Plus its better to let all that degreaser/water dry before running it and baking on the water spots. I did this to my wifes Honda a few years back and it wouldn't start right away. She FREAKED out, but it started up about 3-4 hours later.

When she's dried out, coat it all with some CDT Engine Detailing Spray (its similar to tire foam) and let it sit. If you can't find that, then tire foam will suffice. Go LIGHTLY around the distributor cap. Should clean & shine up nicely

Wouldnt hurt to spray your belts with some belt dressing either as dirty as it is. Not a must but it will help your belt last a little longer if you have gotten any grime between a pully and a belt.

yep, you can pick it up for less then 3 bucks a can at any autopart store. Usualy cures a squeeky belt and its not a bad idea to use it once every year or 2 just to clean them.

Hummm - didn't know that either. I have a sqeaky belt or pully on my Navigator as we speak. Might just have to give that a try tonight.

So Kraz3y - did you get it cleaned up yet? Heres a good pic of what the CDT stuff will do for you when sprayed onto a clean engine

And here's a look at what happens to the black, rubber/plastic pieces if you don't get them real clean and let them dry before heating the engine - look at the air intake tube [:'(]
