sorry for the dumb questions, but do you guys ever burn out with your classic ponys? if so how? do you guys just punch it or power brake it? does a stock 289 have enough power to do donuts? thanks

Heck yeah i burn out. I use punch it. Screw all that TRYING TO MAKE IT BURN OUT, like some stupid import or something. I really dont think a stock 289 can do donuts.... I HAVEN"T TRIED, but i dont think so. maybe the A code 225 could do it with the right gears.

THere is alot of varibles here, but my 65 will spin if floored from a stop. I wouldnt call it a burn out. I have never done it, but if I power braked it would smoke like crazy. That said I do not have limited slip and only 1 tire would do any spinning. THat would make for some lame donuts.

Why burn out? If you want a quick launch, you don't want to burn out. With the right torsion bars and springs, you will get very little burn out. If you want to sit there and make smoke don't beef up the rear, but then that little Honda will already be way ahead of you by the time you get traction.

Not to mention wearing out tires prematurely.

+1 ^

LOL! I used to do it in my 89 4 banger. I'd drop the clutch at about 2800 and that one tire would scream!!!!! if you are looking to power brake and do a stand still, invest in a line lock system to save your rear brakes! doing it too much will cause lots of replacing of tires!
