Default How to get coolant out of carpet?

Well my heater core blew on me, and emptied coolant onto my NEW carpet!!! Two weeks now, and the thing just won't dry up as I expected it not to. I've sucked all I can with my shop vac.

Any ideas on how to dry this up?

take the carpet out and let it dry in the sun or use a blow dryer

it'll still smell of coolant tho. i had that problem in my 89. heater core busted (begining of winter no less!) and got the **** all inside my vents and eventually in my carpet. after replacing the core and cleaning out most of the coolant from the vents, it would smell after sitting in the sun or if i had to turn the heat (or anything to do with the vent) on.

best was needed the defogger bad, hit it turned the fan up and sprayed my window with the thickest coolant steam i have ever witnessed. worst than taking the cap off the rad after a 500 mile journey![:'(]
