Well, When i pulled off my starter today, I noted some of the number... It was C5AE- and some other numbers. So im guessing my engine is actually the engine that came in my car, but i already knew that anyway. Does that mean it's from 65?? I must have an early engine in my car.

 

Yep. The whole number will be C5AE-6015-E.
If it was a 66 the number would be C6AE-6015-C
And 289 and WF would be stamped in the lifter valley.

 

yeah..... but my car is a 66.

 

I found I have a 65 289 w/ 66 heads.

 

from the factory??? My engine has to be original, it's never been touched. Maybe i have an early model car. The number on my vin is 317845.

The numbers don't lie. You have a 289 that was built in 1965 or maybe in late 64. It's the same friggin engine, so what is you **** concern.

 

but i have a 66...... It should be an engine with C6AE right???

 

Oh, and im not **** retentive with anything on my car, BUT MY ENGINE. I LOVE ORIGNAL ENGINES. I will be so mad to find out, it's not the original. If it's not, a 351W is going in there.
