got numbers
Yes, but apparently you haven't been listening. The Ford factories back in the 64-66 era were not concerned about matching numbers, and all of those records have been lost anyway. They just grabbed whatever they had available. Yours just seems to be one of those they grabbed off the shelf and stuck it in your car because it was available. Thank god you don't have a 6 banger, because those were the most readily available engine options during that time. You have a 289 that is exactly like mine. Again, there is no difference between the 65 and the 66 289.
lol, ok glen. I was just making sure my engine is the same one, it rolled out of the factory with. Im guessing since it is a 65 engine, it's the original, because odds are if someone put in another engine, it wouldn't have been a 65. So im happy.
Listen bro, Ford used what hey had. They didn't care if your car was a 66 or not. They didn't care if the numbers matched. If they had 65 blocks they used them. What are they going to do throw them away? I wouldn't be suprised to see 65 blocks in a 67 because some one at the engine plant found some old blocks laying around and put them together. No worries mate! It's the same motor.
