I have a few history questions.

How many of us are over the age of 40?
At what age did you buy your first Mustang?
How much did you pay?

I just turned 45, graduated from high school in May of 1979 and
bought my first Mustang at 17 - 1969 Mach I for $500.00.

 

The age question has been asked in other forums... the young make up the majority... The stang i have now is my first...

 

I'm 46 and graduated in 78. My first stang was a 66 fastback C code that I paid $375 when I was 16.

 

I'll be 41 in 6 days.

First pony was in HS - so, 79-80.

I want to say my dad and I got it for 2k. It needed alot of work and that gave my father and I something to do besides hunt and fish. We had a decent donor vehicle that cut the cost alot.

 

Well, i am 30 as of yesterday, i owned my first stang in may and that is a 65 A code coupe with a 302, PS and disc fronts and that cost me 10k euro which is according to google $12809 which needs a new door skin and parking brake cable, I never went to high school as we don't have it!!! No i am not uneducated, I went to 6th form college which is England's oldest school on the same site, started in around 1200!!

 

I'm 62, and I bought my 65 about 12 years ago. I was a student at the University of Texas at Austin when the first Mustangs came out, and I went down to the Ford house show room to see my first one. That was about May of 1964.

 

I'm 44 but look like I'm still in my 30's. I bought my first Mustang. a 1965 Fastback in 1984. Paid $5,000 for it.

 

I'm 44 and bought a 65 fastback in 84 for $3295.00 and that car is still in the the rebuilding stages with a 302 bored .30 over(351 heads 4V carb all chrome appointment and is till waiting to be completed. I now have a 66 coupe recently purchased from TX while i wait for the 65 fastback to be completed. You cannot beat these classic stangs!!!! Giddeeeeeeeee UUUUpppppppp!!!

37. Bought my 67 Cougar at 14 for $450 and drove it home. Well I didnt but we did. Bought my last mustang for $20, its the rusty heap in the avatar that everyone thinks I am nuts for rebuilding. Also had another 72 Mustang Coupe back in the 80s that I paid $120 for. The 72 is gone, but I have the other two. Both are gonna be under the knife this winter. Hopefully I can get the Cougar running and painted for my 20 year class reunion. Even if I dont go to it.

Old-timer story: My Dad's buddy lent me his new mustang coupe for a day when I was 16 (summer of 65); first V8/stick I ever drove. Took a lot of rubber off the rear tires that day.
Old-car story: Graduated high school 1967 and got a 56 Chev 2-dr hardtop (value $400) for graduation. Sold it three years later to buy an engagement ring; 35 years later she paid me back by insisting we buy the mustang.
