changing oil on '66 mustang
hey guys, im new to this site and i was looking for some advice. i just got my 66 out of storage and was going to replace most the basic stuff on it (air filter, oil, oil filter) and everything has been going great except for changing the oil. i can't find the oil cap that drains the oil. any help on locating and getting the cap off will be greatly appreciated!
With all due respect, Mac...
You are kidding, right? I can't imagine ( unless you've changed oil pans and such, even then if you did you would know where the drain plug is. ) that you've never changed the oil on your mustang? ( just going on what you've said in your post about your car in storage. )

lol yah, im a bit new to this whole diy car thing. i'm turning 17 shortly and the car was in storage for like 2 years because i didnt have my license yet. i saw the oil plug on the bottom but wasn't sure what it was at first. i used wrench to try to get it loose but it wouldn't budge so i didn't knoiw if it was supposed to move lol
. im assuming you need a socket wrench to remove it. if thats the case what size attachment do i need. the biggest 1 i have is 13/16 and it was not big enough.

Hey man-we all did are first oil change sometime in life-jump right in and get your hands dirty! Do the oil change when the engine is cold-the oil is hot otherwise-and be ready with a pan to catch it-it is going to shoot out-make sure you put a thin coat of oil on the filter gasket before you attach a new one. let it run and check for any leaks before you drive the car. Good luck Scott
