None really, just remove all the salvagable parts and recycle the rest. Im sure theres some scrap metal yard thatll buy it from you. And do you mean connecting rod? Cuz I cant see a pushrod goin through a block, Ive bent many a pushrod so like I said I cant see that puncturing a thick cast iron block.

Make sure you all of the gasket sets you need to put the head on the new block. Do you plan on using a hoist and pulling the motor and tranny or just pulling out the motor?

I would recomend taking plenty of photos before and during the removal. It will come in handy when it comes to attaching every thing back on.

Good Luck

Go rent a cherry picker (engine puller hoist) and get everything out of the garage except the car that you are going to pull the engine from. Get the radiator and fan off. Unhook all the electrical connections, gas lines, carb linkage, tranny linkage, battery cables, grounding straps, then put a board that is bigger than your oil pan under the oil pan and jack the engine up a tad so you can get the motor mounts out. Double check to make sure everything is free from the car, then just pull it. It is best to have an exta set of hands to help guide it out. You can leave the tranny attached to the motor, but you will need to take the bolts out of the tranny cross member, and unhook the drive shaft from the tranny.
