ok i want to know how the shift ready light works, does it find the best time to shift on your exact engine or do you set it to a specific rpm? also i have a 302 with msd. my 6al box has a tach input on it so what will fit my application?

Mine is user set. The standard auto meter sport comps with the shift light have one button and a dial. The red button will jump the needle to the shift point and then the black dial allows you to adjust the shift point. I base mine off of the rpm range for my engine setup (around 5300)
