Default Horse Power

What do you think is the MOST horse power ever produced by an engine assembly.
An engine assembly is one or more engines hooked together to form One unit.

What kind of engine? I've seen gas fired turbine engines that produce 17 megawatts(MW) which is about 23,000 hp. I've seen back up diesel generators that produce a more modest 2 MW, 2,700 hp. I'm not sure how much horsepower a deisel engine on a train produces, but its probably in the 2,000 to 3,000 hp range.

Went ahead and looked it up. The most powerful engine produces over 100,000 hp. You can find out more here: http://www.k4viz.com/12-Cylinder.html

Scott
You win the bronz monkey
160 million Horse power. 7.5 million Lbs of thrust. 21.333 Horse power per Lb of thrust.
The most powerful engine assembly ever made
Saturn 5 rocket had 5, 1.5 million LB. of thrust engines that powered the apolo missions.
350 feet long. One is laying on it's side at Johnson space center in Houston, The exhaust pipes are about 9 feet in Dia.
One of these engines would fit in a 8X10 room and if bolted to a dragster would make around 200 Gs of force. You would be a stain on the back seat of the dragster. 1/4 mile in .003 seconds, after ignition.
No tires required.

Okay what engine runs on Diesel, is started with a small rope, has a stroke of about two feet, a bore of 2 feet, no connecting rods, no crankshaft, no exhaust valves, and only three moving parts other than the single injector?
