Default Edelbrock Valve Covers on a 289?

I was looking for some new valve covers for my 65 with a 289 4v.
I have AC, power steering, power drums, etc...
These covers are listed as having a tall valve cover height as opposed to the stock size.
Will I have any issues with clearance?

Thanks in advance...

We are using these on a 351 in a 66, we have no clearance issues at all.

can't see a reason on why they shouldn't fit

MonsterB: they look sweet alright.
I once saw awesome black/red ones from ford racing:

meh. Never cared to much for those valve covers. They look generic, in my humble, yet seldom wrong, opinion.

Find a nice set of finned factory aluminum covers or FoMoCo aluminums FTW.

If the PCV plug-in hole isn't baffled (on the inside of the cover), the engine will suck oil down through the PCV at a surprising rate (less than 100 miles per quart is easily possible). The good news is that you aren't likely to have many close-up tailgaters as you drive. The bad news these days is that the ones who do stay there probably have distinctive paint schemes, lots of antennas, and some colorful roof lights.

I have the Ford Racing black and red valve covers and painted the red tungsten silver to match the paint of the car. Plus they clear my stud girdles.

dont get valve covers that are just "painted" black.

i have the "mustang powered by ford" finned aluminum black ones and the paint started chipping from the heat in the bay. so i blasted them and painted them satin black myself. i used high heat paint. but i left all the fins black too and only cleaned off the letters.

imo, the best valve covers ive seen are the chrome/polished aluminum ford racing valve covers. these:

oh and the clearence they talk about is clearence on the underside of the covers, for if you have roller rockers and/or stud girdles. theres no clearence issues on the outside.
