Default Anyone use Fatmaat - Any Tips?

Got my interior out and plan and bought a roll of Fatmaat and plan on putting in car over the next fews weeks. Primarily to reduce rattles, make car feel a little more solid, and help with stereo sound. Anyone have any experience with it? Can you use inside door - had new skins put on. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Make sure you use a degreaser to clean , and then maybe wipe with an acetone and let dry before installing. I would consider painting with POR15 before installing fatmat. POR15 will help reduce noice but more import has a rust converter and coats like a bedliner.

The surface must be clean, mainly from grease and any debris. Think of it like tape. It must stick or adhere to the surface in which you are applying it to. Basically, cut it to fit an area, peel back the paper and roll it down. Cutting it into smaller. more manageable sizes makes install easier. Make sure you also do it on an fairly warm day, like above 60 or so so it sticks good. I had to use a heater when I did mine, the cold really makes it harden up and not stick so great. Once it is in and has good adhesion, it will not come off easily. It is a really easy job, not difficult at all.

Default I used this stuff (Zillamat)

I used 50 mil Zillamat, I bought 100 sq foot on ebay and used almost all of it.

I even used it in place of the plastic covering below the vents in the fastback

All I did was wipe everything down with paint thinner (I had absolutely no rust issues) and made sure that was dry. And it was a warm day. Also invest in a wood roller (usually from dynamat) because the plastic ones break very easily.

yes i bought and used 100 sqft of it on my 66 coupe. the warmer it is the better. heat gun or blow dryer will help. i live in AZ and did it in the summer so no issues.
i cover the roof, slide little pieces inside the doors, covered the trunk interior, wheel wells and the inside of the firewall. I covered ever inch that i couls and had just one small piece left. I like It
