Default Dust cap size?

Ordered 2 set of all of these: inner wheel bearings, wheel seals, outer bearings, wheel nut set and dust caps for my front wheels all direct from NAP.
This is from them looking up my specific car in their system as well as me looking it up on their system at home. The wheel nut sets (outer grease seals, wheel nut, castellated nuts, cotter pins) and the dust caps do not fit. Nut threads are wrong, castellations are too big, dust caps are too big. So, back they go and another day trying to get my car back together.
The dust cap is for cars with 1-25/32" inside diameter wheel hubs. Does anyone know what size dust cap I need. Does anyone know what size and threads the front wheel nuts need to be (the nut that mounts the Drum to the spindle)
The car is a 64 170 CI, 6 cyl, with 9" drum on the front. (stock for size on these parts)

You can get the proper wheel bearings, seals, and dust caps from Glazier Nolan. The nuts, nut cages, and washers are not available new, but they can provide used ones if yours are missing.

I've already got the rest, it's just the nuts, nut cages and dust caps. The parts store computer shows these are the correct ones and they are not. It shouldn't be a problem getting them new, all the parts stores have racks of the stuff, I just need to know the correct size to look for.

Good luck with that. The nuts and cages were discontinued years ago. Any computer that says otherwise has been improperly programmed.

You can get 1 37/64” O.D. caps, seals, and inner/outer bearings, but since the nuts, keepers, and washers don't wear, they went obsolete many years ago.

You'll either have to re-use the nuts, keepers, and washers you have, or if you don't have them, click the link I gave you.

NPD has the cap but I don't see the nut and retainer. Here's a link: http://www.nationalpartsdepotcatalog...Code=mtg09flx#

Same with Mustangs Unlimited:http://mustangsunlimited1.reachlocal...Site/00238.htm

No surprise.

They do wear if the prior owner only worked on this car with a pair of vise grips and a stripped combo screwdriver/pry bar in his toolbox. I did re-use the old rounded off ones for now (or in this case not rounded, but re-shaped by vise grips).
Some of the auto parts do have them listed in their systems. Put in my car at NAPAonline and it will come up with the sets they sent me. It looks right, the same inside Diam., almost fits. It only starts to thread about 1 and 1/2 turns. (tried both on both sides), so I think the TPI is wrong.
I was heading out to the LA county Fairground's antique auto swap-meet tomorrow, so I was hoping for the exact size I need so I could look through some of the obsolete auto parts dealers. I hate bringing home handfuls of nuts and bits that don't work... Now I'll need another excuse to give the wife for us to go..hehe
Thanks for the source, you always know where to get the hard to find stuff!

People will do stuff like that. Sad, too, because it's not like it requires tightening in the usual sense.
