Default Air cleaner height

Hey guys,

Im wanting to buy a K&N filter for my 67, but I dont know how tall I can get it.

What is the normal hood clearance for a 67 with a holley 4v carb. what kind of filters do you guys run?

Im looking at a K&N that has 3 and 3/4 inch clearance from the carburetor flange to the top of the filter. Will this be enough?

Mock up that height with aluminum foil around the flange and close the hood. If it gets smashed then no way. If it doesn't, then find out when it does and account for the hood contours...since the filter is 14" diameter and not 5".

Or, put your girlfriend under the hood, then close the hood and ask her how much clearance there is.

use the bottom part of your current air cleaner and cut a cardboard box to what you think will fit, put in on the cleaner bottom lid and shut the hood if its smashed cut some off. If it ain't measure it and get that height. Just an idea from a guy thas been drinkin for the past 4 and a half hours. Gotta luv 2 for 1 happy hour. [sm=partyparty.gif]
