Key for a 68 mustang covertible

Default Key for a 68 mustang covertible

I have a very important question....

I lost my key to my mustang last winter and I wanted to sell it to a friend of mine today....Ive tried calling locksmith's all around....and they say they cant replace the ignition so I cant get a new ignition...where can I get a key for my car? I didnt think it would be this hard.... If someone know what I can do pls help....I need to sell my car..

You can buy a new ignition and door key set for less locksmith services (that don't even exist)...

But, he still has to have a key to remove the cylinder. There is a thread one here that has links to how to remove your lock cylinder. It should be on the first page here. Good luck drilling

Oops sorry, i forgot that Soaring put it at the top as a sticky. That should be all the help you need. So look at the top. Good Luck

Yeah, but he still needs a key to that cylinder to remove it, and if he had a key, he wouldn't have to remove it. Catch 22 here. If it were mine, I would fire up my DeWalt 18 volt drill and replace the cylinder with a generic one if I didn't have time to orde a Mustang cylinder. I may get my hands spanked here, but what other alternative is there without the services of a locksmith? OK, yeah there is the lock picking thing. Allen posted some great articles on that subject. Good luck with it, no matter what route you take.

Thats what i said, Glen he can't remove it without turning it to the ACC. GET DRILLING. or show your friend how to hotwire.
