Default HELP!!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site and I need help. I have a 01 convertible mustang and maybe 3 days per week whenI start it a massive amount of white smoke shoots from themuffler. Like I said, it doesn’t happen all the time just some times and it's only when I start the stang up!

Has this ever happen to anyone? If so, what could be causing the problem? If taken it to a couple of mechanics and the delearship and I get different answers. One guy wants to charge me $1500.00 after assessing the problem in 15 minutes and not seeing the smoke actually come from the muffler.

Default RE: HELP!!!

Does this mainly happen on cool mornings? How does it run? What does the 1500 dolla guy say it needs?

Default RE: HELP!!!

No, it can happen at any time of day . He saidI needed to replace the "head" to the engine. Ford referred me to guy that they out source their muffler jobs to. They welded a whole and it stopped for a couple of months and then started again.

Thanks for responding!
