yeah a forum without search function is pretty useless...
right cause when it does work we dont see any "what cai do i get", "what exhaust is best", "what kind of oil should i use" questions....
That's just the newbies, some of us ACTUALLY USE the SEARCH FUNCTION. Yes, it doesn't work on my computer's either, yes plural, and multiple browsers(I work tech support so don't go there). I don't see why you are justifying something that is broke on your site, by pawning it off on stupid questions. It's obvious it's a programming issue, has nothing to do with newbie questions who have no idea how to SEARCH!! DONE!

i never said i was justifying it, but the forum is no way "useless" as he stated. All i was saying is that even with it working, the s197 gets the same questions over and again anyway, it has nothing to do with noobs as there are plenty of people that have been here for a year and still ask questions as i stated above. You see these questions on a daily basis so a search isnt even need as they will be on the first couple of pages normally.

And yes its a programming issue.....DUH! We have it pinned to the top of every forum you enter basically and its all getting worked out with the upgrade.

I didn't read, or need to read, any bulletin to know it's a programming issue! I agree with you on the fact that the forum isn't COMPLETELY USELESS without the search, but it sucks when you are looking for something specific, having to dig deep in the threads manually, to find what you are looking for. It just sounded to me like you were justifying the search feature being down, by mentioning how many "USELESS" threads there are EACH and EVERY WEEK!! That's NO SECRET either..... DUH!

I hope no one takes this the wrong way because I love this site, but I know several people that migrated from primarily using Stanget.com to heredue to them havinga similar issue. It's something easy that caused frustration. I personally have no preference over which site is better, but this how people are lost. I for one want as many people as possible coming to this site so I can get and give help when it's necessary. It has been a while since the search function worked. I hope it's up soon.
