i am a new member of the community and i am trying to direct message a mod. i am having a heck of a time doing so. can someone tell me how i can reach a mod via email or PM?

The forum requires a few more posts before a new member can have the ability to send and receive a PM. I'm not sure what the exact # is but I know its not 50 posts...could be 25 or so.

 

I think it's five. I've been ping with a guy with 6 posts.

 

Go hit up the Newcomers thread and post up there to get the post count higher... You're close it appears now...

can someone explain the PM system here? im used to other forums where a private message is private. here, i can see all the persons mail...it looks more like facebook than something private.

am i doing something wrong? is there an actual private way to contact other members?

 

PM's are private just like you are accustomed to on other sites... What you are likely seeing (can't be for sure) is the public messages left on someone's public profile... If you click on someone's USER ID in a thread a small window will pop up with several options... Send Private Message is one. When I do this for you, I do not get that, I get Send Email to user... Either your account is still not allowed to PM or you did not set yours up properly.

I'm having the same issue , i check all my info and it appears to be correct , maybe there is a minimum post rule ? Never saw that when i joined.

 

If only there was a section other than TECH for threads like this ....................
