Transmission problem
I have a question my mustang makes a grinding noise when the clutch is not engaged but when I push it down it goes away, I can back the car out of the driveway and drive it like .1 miles and it will kick it self out of gear and won't go back in gear until the car cools off . I replaced the clutch and the throughout bearing but not the pilot bearing. The pilot bearing would not make this loud of a noise at least I wouldn't think so . what's y'alls thoughts on this problem the car will not go any where , I already bought a new trans was this a smart move or should I be checking something else ? Any info would be great ! Also it will only go into 1st and 2nd , before this happened I was going down the interstate in 5th And it kicked it's self out of gear and thats where my problems started what's the deal ? And don't say it's bc it's a v6 im only 16 I can't afford all that cool stuff sorry.
