Default Mustang II

Is a Mustang II considered a Mustang? I ask this because wasn't a Mustang II built on a Pinto frame?

Not sure what this question has to do with:

While the Mustang II gets a lot of negative comments, it is indeed a Mustang and was the second highest seller for models after the Gen 1 cars. Ford uses platforms across many different models.

The Gen 1 Mustang was built off the Ford Falcon platform.

Look at the "Classic Mustangs" section. There is a subsection there for the Mustang II.

I've always liked the Mustang II and almost bought 2 of them over the years. One was a 1977 that was converted to a convertible and the other was the "Mach 1" of that era. But the Mach had some engine problems and I decided against it.
