Default picture re sizing

i want to be able to resize my pic so that i can fit it into websites like this but everytime i try to upload it to a website it says file size is to big, is there a way where i can resize it to make the file size smaller so that i can upload it on here that way i can post a pic with my profile? any help would be greately appreciated.

Do you have a picture program like arc soft or even microsoft picture it? You almost need a program to change it. You can go to Freeware-guide.com and get paint.net its decent. Try CNET.com, freewarehome.com, tucows and winsite. They are all have free software or shareware. You can load one, tyr it and if you don't like it dump it. Arc soft currently is offering 30 day trial they are the best I think if you just want to use if for a few pics.. get Arc soft its really easy to use.
good luck

Steve ps you can get free avitar soft ware too to shrink it down small enough to put under your name. I just re-read your post, definately look for Avitar too.
