if I keep the stock shifter but change the handle... what does that do? Will it shorten the throw? I'm assuming yes but I wanted confirmation.

no.... not the ****. There is a lower handle and an upper... I want to replace the upper with a shorter one... I guess I'll just get it and find out how I like it.

oh i see. well it'll shorten the handle, but no the throws, as the bottom part is what's actually doing the gear changing. your best bet is a steeda tri ax or a pro 5.0, you can find one cheap on ebay.

i have the short handle for the shifter got it from kona racing, doesn't short the throws just the height of the handle your better off gettin a short shifter steeda tri-ax is best but if you wanna save some cash upr makes a replica which is guranteed for life and less money

got with the pro 5.0 shifter base and the hurst indy handle it is just right for me. those short handles on the pro 5.0 shifter are good for busting the radio on a hard shift to 3rd.
