I didn't take the car myself, but the guy i bought it from who is a friend of mine took it to a track in San Antonio, TX before he sold it to me (www.rivercityracewayinc.com). Anyway, here's what i was told on it:

Car: 1999 Mustang GT Convertible, 5spd. manual, no mods at the time except a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter

Track: San Antonio raceway

1/4: 14.6 (says he's done 14.5 in it, but didn't have slip)

I didn't ask about other info. I'm trying to put a new intake on this weekend and see how much, if at all, it will affect the 1/4 time.

I just ran my car last Wednesday at Sacramento Raceway.

91 GT Convertible AOD

ET- 12.80

60' - 1.84

MPH - 109mph

Baddest dude out there was a red 68/69 Charger. Ran a 9.80 something at around 139mph. His license plate said ON OFF for his battery cut off. Sweet car... Don't street race that dude!!

The 99 GT is capeable of better times than that...what kind of light was the guy getting? The race is in the tree, people. Ive seen 99 Mustang (coupe, the convertible is heavy, and Im a speed guy...so I like hard tops.) 13.98 at 102. Drivers make drag races...I couldent run that number in my 99 consistintly, but this guy didnt run over a 14.1 all day, he had .400 lights almost every time. They say the Cobra (03) will do 12.9 bone stock. On another note, somone somewhere in the forum, said that the 03 cobra had to be slightly moded to beat the f-body T/A and Camaro WS6 or SS...This is not true. The Cobra is the faster car, making 20 to 30 more rear wheel horsepower than any f-body T/A or Camaro recently produced.

99 GT capable of a 12.8? I don't think so. On nitrous maybe. Also in case you haven't read the 03 Cobra comes with an Eaton supercharger and 4V heads. It better run 12's. And can people stop saying you have to have a good light to run fast in the quarter. That is absolute B/S. Your light has NOTHING to do with your ET! If you're bracket racing yes it matters as you leave before your opponent and it's about crossing the line first. You can sleep at the line if you want and run the same time as cutting a perfect .500 light. (.400 is for Top Fuel and other pro categories by the way..) YOUR ET DOES NOT START UNTIL YOU BREAK THE BEAMS!!! Post facts, not B/S.

Actually you can get a .400 light. If you red light. Still will not affect your ET.
