But anyways, with $500 bux you should concider long headers and an exhaust kit with Replacement test tubes to take out your cats whenever you want.... That will probably free up 50 ponies and make your car sound awesome.

If you look hard you can find a rebuilt turbo with a head for your car for about that much... But thats a rare find for that price.

Dunno about what other things would really increase the power.
Dont worry about the venom chip or any other pre burn chip.... If your thinkg about chipping your car then have it Dyno'ed and custome burnt and tuned right there... Somtimes they can free up as much as 100hp depending on your application and mods. It also gets rid of your spark retard at whatever speed it is for your car, your RPM limiter and your speed limiter.

If you can get the exhaust and the custom chip/tune. You will love the results.
First of all, he doesn't have ANY mods, right?

There is no way on God's green earth that for $500 he can get exhaust including Long Tubes!

I agree that is the thing to do, but for $500 I'd start on the intake then do the exhaust.

Total exhaust(X-pipe, cat-back, LT's) will run you about $1200 plus installation unless you can do it yourself.

Quick fix, get the NOS[sm=smiley19.gif]

With $500 you can get yourself some forged 4340 Steal H-Beam rods from EAGLE.
With $400 bux you can get yourself some Forged Pistons
With another $700 why dont you get yourself a Billet Crank from Scat?
Then spend another $2-300 more for all your bearings, oil pump and crap like that, little things for the whole engine...
And for about $2 bux each you can get ARP-L19 bolts to hold everything together.

All of a sudden with a modest general investment of $1800 you have yourself a bottom end that can handle 1200hp
the info you gave is a little off a stock OE block cant handle more then 500hp before it cracks. so updating your stock components is kinda pointless since they can withstand up around 500hp.

i would say either a AOL supercharger or a BIG type-r sticker. 1000 hp easy!! just kidding. the more money you have the more bang for the buck you can get. if you have 2k you can get a trick flow package from summit that will give you 350 hp (not an increase of 350, that will be the power you have after the mod). add to that some longtubes with o/r x-pipe for about $500 (Hedman longtubes jet-hot coated, hedman x-pipe) and that will give you some more, plus it will sound SICK!!!

the actually benefits of a typical street car is minimal compared to
shorties.

mkspeed you said the trick flow package for 2000 =350 or so

how about a JYTT setup for 1000= 400+
