In that case pull an engine, any engine from a junkyard that "runs" and get a chiltons or haynes manual for it and go to town. As long as you have a basic understanding, you can follow these manuals, they are usually idiot proof lol

thats what i was thinking of doing. How much would an engine like that run on average though? I have never been to a junkyard around here. There all in the ghetto.

Not even close. But thats seems pretty cheap. I would like a New one with good heads. Then assuming the new one works, drop in the Newer engine, pull the ol 97 out, and take it apart.
