Varies from state to state I would suppose. In Md, it's 75 bucks and that's it.

u could try here

New York DMV

seems its 3 points on your record.

As long as your insurance agency doesnt check your record often your good.

I have a had a speeding ticket on my record for over a yr and my insurance company knows nuttin about it. Ive been in many times to talk with them to up my policy and they said they still show no record of it.

In IL they only give you a fine and no points on your record (therefor insurance is not affected). THis is bexause they cannot prove who was actually driving the car.
