Default Rods, check?

What do you have to do to check the rods on an old 302? Do you have to get them x-rayed, or I imagine the machine shops have some way of checking them.

I also remember a term from years ago, "magnaflux" what is that?

Send them to the machine shop and , yep, ask for them to be magnafluxed (magged).
I would also have new rod bolts installed, ARP makes good ones......
