Default Car Shampoo?

so a while ago i heard from a friend that washing your car with a specific type of shampoo is good for the paint. the pantene pro-v with added something or other. so i use it...and i thought it seemed a little shinier, maybe jus cuz i wanted it to. but then somebody told me the other night that it doesnt matter anyways cuz i have clearcoat and i am jsut wasting my time and money and pretty much being retarded buying girl shampoo for my car. lol anyways...i was just wondering if anybody has any info or thoughts on who is right...is it good for the paint or no? also...what do you use to wash your car, and how do you like it? (im just asking about the soap, not wax and all that stuff) thanks everybody for your input!

if it appears shinier then the shampoo probably has something in it that fills the micro scopic scratches in the paint. nothing that a good wax job won't do.

btw pledge will do the same thing but is a silcone base that fills the scratches.

It might do something a little extra... but it won't be UV resistant at all, or water resistant. Shampoo is made to go on and wash right off, it's not made to stay on, that's what conditioner is for =)

Just don't use dish soap, that's quite harsh on the paint and supposedly removes wax

I guarantee you cant find anything better. Its awsome, nobody can no longer lean against your car or sit on your hood because they will just slide right off and bust their ***

Meguiars is really nice. I've been using it for a while now and it seems like my car stays cleaner for longer. You should check it out.
