I'm new to mustangs and I tried to do some searching but never really found the info I was looking for. If you could possibly lead me towards the right direction or just answer my question I would appreciate that a lot!! I've narrowed my choices down to either a mustang gt, mach 1, or cobra. Mainly in the 1995+ region, depending on which car it is since the prices vary. Here's roughly of what I mean. For the gt 2000-2005, mach 1 2000-2004, cobra 1995-2000. Which mustang would you chose and why? Any help would be appreciated!

 

I would probably pick a 2004 Mach 1... that's just me. It'll probably run you close to $20k though.

It has the 4v engine, and it's a mach... that's about it The GT's have 2v engines (99-04 are "PI", or Performance Improved, Ford improved the airflow through the intake manifold and heads and picked up 50-60 HP over the 96-98's). The Cobras also have a 4v engine.

I like the new edge stangs (99-04) better than the SN-95s (94-98) or the S197 (05+).

The 94-95 stangs have the old fox 5.0 in them, which is cheap to mod and responds well to basic mods... All stangs from 96 to present have the 4.6 mod motor, which is expensive to mod and basic mods won't get you far. That's something to consider, too. That covers most everything, I think.

 

out of the choices id say a mach. if 03-04 cobra were on the list i would say get that

 

I would choose an 03-04 cobra, reason forged and has 390hp and TQ(underrated)
second choice would be an 03-04 mach 1, reason 4V instead of 2V like the GT's als0 rated at 305hp 300TQ(also an underrating)
Third 01 cobra, reason the 99 had something wrong and wasnt as fast unless the reacall was fixed(320hp/TQ)
fourth 96-98 cobra reason not as powerful 305 I think hp/tq) as any above engines but it is still 4V
fifth 94-95 cobra, reason the 5.0 motor despite only having 240 hp
and lastly but not least the 94-98 GT 94-95 had the (5.0) all rated at 215hp 285TQ. exept 98 which was 225hp
