Default O2 sensors and Check engine light

I know that one or more of my O2 sensors is bad but can anyone tell me if the typical OBD II scanner that you borrow from Advance Auto and Autozone will tell me which one? By that I mean, will it tell pre or post cat, left or right?

Yes. It will tell you exactly which one it is by the code.

o2s11=bank 1 sensor 1, o2s12=bank 1 sensor 2
o2s21=bank 2 sensor 1, o2s22=bank 2 sensor 2

Bank 1= the cylinder head where #1 is located.

Understand?
