Default Leaking Head Gasket? :[[[[

My milage car, a 1994 Ford Explorer, (milage because I don't want miles on the stang! NOT because of it's miles per gallon) has been running really hot the past few days, and occassionally theh eater wouldn't work, just occassionally though, so I figured it had was something wrong with the coolant, so I went to get the oil changed and get the full service at express autolube, they said they think that my driver's side head gasket may be leaking coolant.

Is there a relatively inexpensive way to fix this that won't cost me a small fortune?

You could try some stop leak but I doubt it will work. Bite the bullet and fix it right if you are plannin' on keepin' it.

There's no way to fix a head gasket leak short of removing and replacing the head.
Stop leak is there just to get you home or to a shop.Never, never try to use stop leak as a permanent fix.
Given the cost of replacement heads it's best to keep an eye on fluid levels yourself and quit using oil change shops. There are innumerable threads on here about "jiffy lube" overfilling this and underfilling that.I have a relative that was one of the oil change shop's best employees and I wouldn't depend on him to so much as check the oil level let alone change it.

I would do a little more checking before I just assumed it was a head gasket leak. I maybe something like a heater hose.
Use a cooling system pressure tester to identify the leak for sure.

Yeah, was going to have it pressure tested later today, can anyone throw me a ballpark price of a replacement part?

My dads 01 explorer had a cracked block. we paid like 5500 for labor and 2000 for the engine i think. It might have been 5500 for everthing.
