5.0 Hp comparisons/questions
I've been doing some research on different 5.0 engines for a swap I'm working on and have come accross something that baffles me. The "88 through '92 mustangs had 225Hp with the 302 engine. The "88 through '90 Lincoln Towncar, and F250 had seemingly the same 5.0L engine rated at 150 Hp. All three vehicles had Ford's 302 engine. Not to mention the F250 had dual throttle bodies to allow for better air intake. What's the difference? Can I tweek a Lincoln computer to get the same Hp out of the towncar engine as the mustang? Small performance upgrades?

RE: 5.0 Hp comparisons/questions
Essentially, the 150hp engines are different engines in a way. They had different pistons, heads, cam, upper intake, throttle bodies, injectors, EEC's, exhaust manifolds...everything
The things they shared is the block, crank, rods, lower intake, fuel rails (depending on car), and just a handful of other things.

They can be classified as "HO" and non HO. Mercury grand marquis also had the same engines (non HO) and probably more.
P.S. Those grand marquis are such slow POS

Thanks all!! I've got another unrelated question: My project car has a rearend in it with 3:73 gear ratio. It was set up to the original 2.3L. Will it handle v8 power?
