I'm looking at buying an 82 351w, and I know that the 74 and earlier had the higher nickel content, but was just wondering, how much HP is too much for an 82? I dont wanna buy it if I'm not going to be able to put the amount of HP I want into it.

depends on what parts you put in( steel crank hbeam rods and you can probably get away with 550 or so but reliability is out the window at that point.

 

well, I'm planning on putting a forged internals in and stroking it to a 393. I'm more interested in the block itself, I wanna know if I will run the risk of cracking it or anything.
