Default rear axle

I`m changing my inline six motor to a 302 and i know i need a bigger rear axle,but I was wondering if I need a whole new rear or if i can get just a rear differential assembly.

What year for one, and two, yes you'll need the whole rear end, drum to drum. Then your rear brakes will be bigger than your fronts, so you'll probably want to upgrade the fronts. Also, you'll have 4 lug wheels on the front, and 5 lugs on the back.

But, as you say, what year is the car... and is his 302 stock? If so, i doesnt seem to me that axles would be an issue...

its a 68 mustang and the motor is stock they only upgrade for right now would be headers and maybe a cam in the near future

K, so you're going to need a new... Engine (the 302) radiator, hoses, accessory brackets, accessories, motor mounts, front and rear suspension, transmission, driveshaft and yokes, and rear end, along with front brakes and wheels if you feel like making it brake like a real car.
